Description
Join us to explore the dynamic relationship between consciousness and creativity. This discussion showcases MIU’s unique approach to Creative Writing, Visual Arts, and Cinematic Arts and New Media – programs we offer at both undergraduate and graduate levels, online and on campus.
Our panel of faculty dives into how Consciousness-Based Education enhances the creative process by developing self-awareness, intuition, and deep insight, elevating both the quality and depth of creative work. We discuss the role of meditation in fostering a profound connection between the creator and their work, so that you can “catch the big fish,” as David Lynch puts it, and bring your “invisible” ideas to the visible realm.
Panelists include:
- Amine Kouider, Chair of the Cinematic Arts & New Media program
- Genevra Daley, Assistant Professor of Art
- Mel McCuin, Director of the BA and BFA in Creative Writing
- Gwynedd Vetter-Drusch, online BA student, Cinematic Arts & New Media
They address key questions like:
- What does it mean to “make the invisible visible” in the creative arts?
- How does MIU’s Consciousness-Based approach nurture creativity differently than traditional programs?
- How do these programs empower students for life beyond graduation?
