COURSE DESCRIPTION
Maharishi AyurVeda® is a holistic system of health and healing. Utilizing the laws of nature, it aims to create health and balance in the mind and body. Vata dosha is one of the three Ayurvedic principles found in the body. In this 5-lesson online course you will learn:
- What are the healthiest ingredients, the healthiest cooking methods, and the proper ways of food preparation?
- The importance of healthy oils in the diet and the guidelines about eating dairy.
- How to prepare Ayurvedic basics such as ghee, panir, and lassi.
- What are the best Kapha-pacifying foods including fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and seeds?
- How to use spices in Ayurvedic cooking to balance Kapha dosha and improve digestion.
- How to adjust your diet to the seasons and times of the day to maximize your body’s natural rhythms.

Sankari Wegman, PhD is Assistant Professor, College of Integrative Medicine, at Maharishi International University.
Sankari has a life-long interest in empowering people to live their optimal health. She has a PhD in Maharishi Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine from MIU and has been a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation program for 20 years. She is also on the Board of Trustees at the Maharishi School and gives lectures on Ayurveda at universities and high schools throughout the country.
